| Charity of the Season: Autumn/Winter 25/26 |
Jay’s Aim is a young and growing charity and is based in MMC’s home town of Newton Abbot. Established in Jay’s name with the target of reducing the rate of sudden cardiac death among young people in the South West.
Challenge: One of the reasons for Jay’s Aim’s brilliant success is the public support the charity receives. Until now the charity had not tried Trust Fundraising. Dan, one of Jay’s older brothers and CEO, wanted support to test this out.
As the winners of MMC’s Charity of the Season Autumn/Winter 25/26 program, Dan selected 3 areas of support.
- Coaching session with Marsha Cox
- Top 5 Funders list
- Fundraising Bid Critique
Our role: Over 6 months, Rosie and Marsha worked closely with Dan on each of these 3 elements.
Dan’s coaching session focused on key areas needed for development so that Jay’s Aim would be ‘Trust Funding Ready’. Dan came away with links to essential guidance and an actionable plan.
Funder research carried out by Rosie identified potential funders for core, capital and project. Dan came away with a priority order of fully researched funders.
Early in working together Dan said he wanted to challenge himself to write a proposal to a well-known funder for the first time. Over the months Rosie and Marsha shared their collective experience with this funder, a proposal and budget template. Dan, who is also a teacher and former pastoral leader, allocated time in a school holiday to write the bid. Rosie’s review left Dan with track changes and comments, with a follow-up call for further discussion.
Client quote/testimonial: “We were delighted to be selected as MMC’s Charity of the Season. MMC’s support has been instrumental in helping our charity progress to the next level. Rosie’s guidance and advice in identifying potential funders has been invaluable, and Marsha’s calm and professional approach during a series of coaching sessions enabled us to clearly understand and define our charity’s short- and medium-term priorities.
They have both been a pleasure to work with and we look forward to using them in the future to ensure the continued success of Jay’s Aim.”
